The short version
- Our apps are free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Most show ads. Hidayath doesn't.
- None of them is an emergency service or medical advice. In an emergency, call the emergency services first.
- You can use them for your own personal, everyday life.
- What you store in our apps is yours. Keep your account safe, and keep your own copies of important originals.
- Don't copy, crack or misuse them.
- They're tools, not guarantees: double-check prayer times with your local mosque, exchange rates with your bank, the bill total with your eyes, and medical decisions with your doctor.
- Your legal rights as a consumer always stay with you.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using swode.studio or downloading or using any SWODE Studio app, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use them. If you use an app on behalf of someone else, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for them.
Our apps are distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple's and Google's own terms also apply to how you download them, and on anything about the store itself, the store's terms take priority. Section 10 has extra terms for apps you get from the App Store.
2. Who we are
SWODE Studio is the mobile apps division of NAPCo Group Pvt Ltd, registered in the Republic of Maldives (registration number C21812025), at G. Aakashvilla, Hadheebeemagu, K. Malé, 20098, Maldives.
3. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use our apps on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms. The apps are licensed, not sold.
4. Accounts
Some of our apps ask you to create an account. If you do:
- you must be at least 16, or older where your local law requires;
- give us accurate details, and keep your password and sign-in methods private;
- you are responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away at support@swode.studio if you think someone else has used it;
- you can delete your account at any time, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or our service at risk. Unless the law or a security risk prevents it, we will tell you first and give you the chance to download what you have stored.
5. Fair use
Please don't:
- copy, modify, resell or redistribute our apps, or pass them off as your own;
- reverse engineer or decompile them, except where the law specifically allows it;
- interfere with how the apps or their ads work, or use bots or scripts against them;
- use the apps to break the law, to mislead or harm anyone, or to infringe anyone's rights;
- upload anything you don't have the right to store, or another person's medical or personal documents without their permission;
- try to get into other people's accounts or data, or test, probe or overload our systems;
- send false, misleading or malicious reports;
- create or share QR codes that point to scams, malware or anything illegal.
6. Your content
What you create or store in our apps, like documents, QR codes, bill splits and saved rates, belongs to you. You're responsible for what you put into them and for having the right to store it.
In apps with an account, you give us permission to host, store, back up, process and show your content to you and to the people you choose to share it with, only to run and improve the service for you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that are erased on the schedule in our Privacy Policy. In apps without an account, your content lives only on your device, and we can't restore it if it's deleted.
We back up what you store with us and take reasonable care of it, but no service can promise it will never lose data. Please keep your own copies of important originals, such as medical records and identity documents.
7. App by app
Torchless
Long torch use warms your phone and drains the battery. Don't shine the light into anyone's eyes. Torchless is a convenience, not safety or emergency equipment.
Lost & Found QR
A QR code can lead anywhere. Check where a scanned code is taking you before you open a link, pay, or share details. Anyone who scans a code you made can read what's in it, so only include information you're happy to share. If someone finds your things, how you get them back is between you and them.
Keep the Change
The maths is there to make splitting easier. Please check the totals before anyone pays. It isn't accounting or tax advice.
Loose Change
Exchange rates come from a third-party provider and are for information only. They can be delayed or differ from what a bank or exchange actually offers. Rates you save yourself are your own reference numbers. Loose Change does not buy, sell or exchange currency, it isn't financial advice, and you're responsible for following the currency and foreign exchange laws where you are.
Hidayath
Prayer times are calculated from your location and a calculation method, and can differ by a few minutes from your local official timetable. Please follow your local mosque or religious authority where they differ. Smart Silent relies on your phone's Do Not Disturb settings, so some calls, alarms or apps may still come through, and it may not silence your phone if its settings or permissions change.
Apps that store medical documents
They help you keep your documents organised and to hand. They are not a medical device, do not give medical advice, are not an official medical record, and are not for emergencies. Always rely on your doctor or healthcare provider for medical decisions, and keep the originals they give you.
Apps for reporting what is happening
They are not an emergency service. If anyone is in danger, call the emergency services first: in the Maldives, 119 for the police, 102 for an ambulance, 118 for fire and rescue and 191 for the coast guard. Only report what you have seen or know to be true, and don't put yourself at risk to send a report.
Each new app we release gets its own notes here before anyone can download it.
8. Ads
Ad-supported apps show ads from third parties through our ad partners. We don't control or endorse the products in those ads, and anything you buy from an advertiser is between you and them. Tapping an ad may take you out of the app. How ads use data, and how to choose whether they are personalised, is in our Privacy Policy.
9. Our property
The apps, their designs, code, names and logos, including SWODE Studio and our app names, belong to NAPCo Group Pvt Ltd or its licensors. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond the licence in section 3. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely, with no obligation to you.
10. Apps from the App Store
If you got an app from the Apple App Store, these extra terms apply, and they take priority over anything else in these terms for that app:
- These terms are between you and NAPCo Group Pvt Ltd, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence lets you use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Support is ours, at support@swode.studio.
- If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for it, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses or costs from a failure to meet a warranty are ours.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims you or anyone else make about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and resolving that claim.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a United States government embargo or listed as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile carrier's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
11. What we can't promise
We work hard to make our apps reliable, but they are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that they will always be available, error-free, or right for your particular purpose, and we may change, pause or retire features or apps. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.
12. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, missed appointments or prayers, or decisions you made based on rates, calculations or documents shown in an app;
- we are not liable for lost data, except where it was caused by our failure to take reasonable care of what you stored with us;
- our total liability to you for anything related to our apps or website is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for our breach of data protection law, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
13. Ending things
You can stop using our apps whenever you like. If you have an account, delete it first, because uninstalling an app does not delete your account. We may suspend or end your licence if you break these terms, and we may discontinue an app. If we retire an app that stores your content, we will give you at least 30 days' notice to download it, unless the law or a security risk prevents that. Sections 6, 9, 10 and 11 to 16 continue to apply after the licence ends.
14. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when we launch a new app. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects you, we'll tell you in the app or on the website before it takes effect. Continuing to use the apps after that means you accept the updated terms.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, and the courts of the Maldives have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please email us. Most problems can be fixed with a conversation.
